→ BEHIND DERM360º

Meet Shweta Patel

Medical Biochemist (MSc, BSc, DipHE)
Founder of derm360º
®

With over 8 years in the professional healthcare industry, including experience at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Shweta brings a clinical and biochemical approach to persistent inflammatory skin conditions, including acne, rosacea and eczema.

But her interest in acne is also deeply personal. For over 15 years, Shweta experienced acne herself. She moved through contraception, antibiotics and countless approaches that offered temporary improvement, only to find the acne returning, sometimes more aggressively than before.

It left her with a question that changed the way she looked at skin:

"What if we stopped treating the skin in isolation and started asking why the inflammation keeps returning?"

That question became the foundation of her work.

Rather than accepting recurrent acne as something that simply needs to be managed indefinitely, Shweta became interested in understanding the biology behind persistent inflammatory skin, and why two people with seemingly similar skin can respond so differently to the same treatment.

Today, Shweta combines her background in biochemistry with her experience working with inflammatory skin to take a more investigative approach to care.

Alongside her clinical work, she is a CPD guest speaker and educator, sharing her knowledge with fellow professionals nationwide.

Her work has since taken her beyond the UK, working with patients across France, Germany, Canada, Mauritius, Tanzania, the UAE and USA.

Her work has been recognised with the Award of Excellence 2026, and she was named a Finalist in England's Business Awards 2025.

→ THE CLINIC

Built to break the cycle

78%

of people relapse after isotretinoin

derm360º was created for people who have spent years caught in the cycle of:

flare, treat, improve, relapse, repeat.

When acne keeps returning, the answer isn't always another treatment. Sometimes, it's understanding what is keeping the cycle going. That is the thinking behind derm360º.

Rather than treating inflammatory skin purely from the surface, the clinic takes a wider clinical view, investigating the biological factors that may be contributing to persistent or recurrent acne.

This can include looking at areas such as hormonal contribution, inflammation, gastrointestinal health, metabolic function and nutritional status, alongside relevant clinical history and testing.

The aim isn't to test everything or chase every possible cause. It is to identify the most relevant pieces of the puzzle, understand how they may be connected, and use that information to create a more individualised protocol.

Because when you've spent years treating the symptom, the next step may not be another treatment.

Understand the biology. Break the cycle.
